Tim started in the fish trade in 1979 where he managed a busy fishmongers business based in Birkenhead market.
In 1988 he opened his first shop on the cross in the middle of the busy market town of Mold and in 1991 also acquired the present market stall in Wrexhams Butchers Market .
At one stage Tim was employing 11 staff before eventually deciding to concentrate solely on the busier Wrexham outlet.
Since opening in 1988 Tims for Fish has always held the Seafish Quality Award and has held it every year since the scheme was finished in 2000.
To qualify for the award a fishmonger has to undergo yearly inspections by officers from the Seafish Industry Authority making sure the following points reached the highest possible standards.
Needless to say these qualities still prevail and since 2002 we have held the Bronze Food Hygiene Award so please feel you can shop with confidence at Tims
The scheme aims to raise consumer confidence by giving recognition for food businesses that have excellent hygiene procedures in place.
There are 3 categories of award - bronze, silver and gold, but the gaining of any category of award is significant and indicates high standards.
